Panattoni has extended its sponsorship agreement with Poland’s premier golfer, Adrian Meronk. In the first year of Panattoni’s sponsorship, Meronk achieved his highest-ever ranking and also took part in the world’s most prestigious tournament – The US Masters in Georgia. He now has a good chance of representing Europe during the prestigious Ryder Cup.
Panattoni became the main sponsor of the golfer in April 2022, while in July, Adrian became the first Pole to win the most important golf cycle – the DP World Tour. He also took first place in the almost century-old Horizon Irish Open. In addition, he recently won the prestigious DS Automobiles Italian Open. The win cemented the player’s position as a candidate for the European team for the Ryder Cup in which Europe plays off against the US every two years. Another success during Panattoni’s sponsorship was achieving the highest ranking in his career - 46th place in the OWGR global ranking.
In Poland, the number of regular golf players has been growing at a rate of 5–10 pct per year, but the popularity of the sport is still much lower than in such countries as the US, Japan or even the Czech Republic, which can boast more than 100,000 golfers. We believe that Adrian’s global success will further accelerate the growth of golf in Poland, which is why we are happy to extend our arrangement with him, which is already full of historic moments for the sport in the country. Golf is definitely worth promoting. It teaches fair play but at the same time is one of the hardest disciplines imaginable. Panattoni also supports the organisation of golf tournaments and is the long-term main sponsor of the Annual Eurobuild CEE Golf Tournament. The developer also provides support for football players, having been for years the main sponsor of Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała and two football academies – BVB im. Łukasz Piszczek in Goczałkowice-Zdrój and Widzew Łódź. The developer began sponsoring the first of these in 2019 and is now its main sponsor. In the almost three years that have since passed, pitches have been relaid, while a recreational area has been built along with changing rooms, wellness rooms and rehabilitation rooms, as well as an auxiliary technical building. The cooperation with Akademia Widzewa Łódź started at the beginning of 2022, since when Panattoni’s strategic partnership has allowed the club to reach an even higher organisational and sporting level.
