To begin with, it’s worth reflecting on what has driven the remarkable growth of Poland’s logistics sector in recent years.According to Wojciech Kosiór, the head of development at Polish warehouse developer MDC2, this growth has been underpinned by a synergy of several key factors. “First and foremost,” he says, “we need to highlight our geographical location and cost advantages. But the real game-changer has been the development of transport infrastructure. In recent years, the opening of hundreds of kilometres of new expressways and motorways has enabled the development of logistics parks in strategic locations. For instance, investments at the intersections of the A1 and the A4 and A2 motorways have facilitated the growth of modern distribution centres serving both the domestic and international markets. Combined with investments in ports – particularly the Baltic Hub in Gdańsk – this has opened Poland to goods from across the globe.&rdquo
