E-commerce
Shopee is ending its operations in Poland. The Asian e-commerce platform, which debuted in Poland in 2021, intends to focus on operations in other regions of the world.

Shopee's homepage displays a message that reads:

We regret to inform you that the Shopee Poland platform will cease operations on 13 January 2023 at 23:59.

Orders placed before this date are expected to be processed according to standard procedures, support and handling of placed orders will continue. The company does not give official reasons for the closure. According to the Wirtualne media portal, employees were communicated that the decision was related to "high uncertainty about the macroeconomic situation" and a change in strategy to focus on Asia and South and Central America, where the platform has a stronger position.

In October 2022, layoffs began at Shopee's Polish division, which the company declared was part of "optimising operational efficiency at a global level" and involved less than 10 pct of employees.

As of August 2022, Shopee was leasing space in the Warsaw Unit office building at Rondo Daszyńskiego.
