Wildberries growing in April

E-commerce
POLAND Wildberries, the Russian online retailer that debuted on the Polish market in January, has revealed some of its initial Polish sales figures.

Since January, Wildberries has opened 26 branded pick-up points in Poland, each equipped with fitting rooms with mirrors – seven of these are in Warsaw while others can be found in Kraków, Poznań, Lublin, Wrocław, Białystok, Gdańsk, Bielsko-Biała, Chorzów, Bytom, Częstochowa, Gdynia, Koszalin, Legnica, Siedlce, Szczecin, Tarnów, Wałbrzych and Kielce. The courier delivery area of the company was also been expanded in May to cover the entire country.

Over the period Wildberries has sold around 15,500 items of clothing, accessories, beauty products and toys. In April sales were up by 260 pct on the previous month, with the highest growth being in footwear (+507 pct), toys (+455 pct) and underwear (+210 pct).

According to the company: “Due to lockdown measures in the country and the self-isolation regime in March and April, the demand of our Polish customers shifted from business clothes for work to free and casual wear. The most popular items were t-shirts, sports suits, hoodies, pyjamas and home shoes – flip-flops, slippers, etc. This month, as the lockdown is gradually relaxed, jackets and shirts, as well as sports shoes, shorts and dresses, which Poles have bought for outdoor use and for the office, have appeared on the list of the most popular products.”

Wildberries also recently launched operations In Slovakia.
