Real estate investor and fund manager Cromwell Property Group has secured a EUR 66 mln green loan for the 61,000 sqm Janki shopping centre on the southern outskirts of Warsaw.
Under the terms of the loan, which was provided by the Polish branch of HSBC Continental Europe, Cromwell is required to report on a number of sustainability measures, including renewable energy usage, annual greenhouse gas emissions, and to ensure that in any given reporting year at least 50 pct of new leases include green clauses that cover scope 3 emissions – i.e. those that result from assets that are not directly under the control of the reporting party (as opposed to scope 1).
