True innovation from Marks & Spencer

WORLD Marks & Spencer has partnered with True, which operates in the new-tech segment, to focuses on innovation and digital transformation.
M&S believes that the move will open up new investment opportunities for the UK-based company.

“We hope that the cooperation with True will provide us with access to the latest technology,” explains Steve Rowe, the CEO of M&S.

It should also help to transform the way the company currently operates, benefiting its customers in the long run.

Mike Tattersall, the commercial director of True, believes that M&S is an example of a company that has not only revolutionised British retail but also understands the need for evolution and the importance of innovation. True will provide the chain with access to information on the retail and consumer sectors through the Live Network. M&S will also be able to use more than 2,000 existing systems and products.

At the end of 2016, M&S decided to close all off its stores in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Lithuania, Slovakia and a number of other markets, closing 53 stores in total. Marks & Spencer currently has 268 franchise stores on 34 markets, including the Czech Republic, as well as joint ventures in Greece and India.
