Poland MHP awarded with ULI prize

The Museum of Polish History, part of a cultural complex in Warsaw's Citadel, combines educational, exhibition and social functions to create a place not only for the presentation of history, but also a space for a better understanding of it. Opened a year ago, the facility offers a wide range of functions, including permanent and temporary exhibition halls, a concert hall for 600 people, a cinema, theatre, library and conference spaces.

The Polish History Museum's winning of the ULI Global Awards for Excellence is a great accolade for the Polish real estate and cultural sector. It is an example of how Polish projects can successfully compete internationally, promoting our heritage and a modern approach to public spaces.

The Polish History Museum project posed a special challenge for us - we tried to make the building universally refer to history, but also make it intriguing, inviting people to discover the history. We are delighted that our work and the museum's mission have been recognised on a global level. This award is proof that architecture can not only reflect the past, but also shape the future.

In this year's ULI Global Awards for Excellence, 109 projects were submitted from three regions: Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. From these projects, 27 regional finalists were selected, seven of which were awarded at the global level, including the Museum of Polish History.

The ULI Global Awards for Excellence, established in 1979, is one of the most important awards in urban planning and real estate. It recognises projects with the highest standards in design, sustainability, innovation and social impact. For the 2024 edition, the jury consisted of experts from various fields, including architecture, urban planning and finance.
