The transformation process for the Kamionek area of this district began as early as the late 1990s, when the first private investors began developing post-industrial sites in the neighbourhood of ul. Mińska. Over the years, this rundown area has been gradually “tamed” by cultural events, markets, social initiatives and creative activity. Architectural studios and avant-garde offices moved into the Soho Factory development, the Neon Museum was established, and the fashionable Warszawa Wschodnia restaurant – still operating today – first opened its doors. This was also home to the M25 club, while the neighbouring SWPS University established its campus there, the development of all of which had a clear influence on the character and dynamics of the entire district.
