EurobuildCEE: How would you say the Polish real estate investment market has performed so far this year? Georg Blaschke, Head of CEE and Benelux Real Estate Finance, Helaba: The Polish real estate investment market posted a very strong first half of the year. This has mainly been driven by large-scale transactions involving major shopping centres as well as larger retail park portfolios which had been developed in the past few years due to their success and resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic. The retail sector continues to perform very strongly despite competition from online retail, which is attracting interest from new investors in the US and the Baltic states. And has this pattern been replicated across the CEE region? Or is Poland a special case? Poland will always remain a special case as it is by far the largest real estate market in the CEE and is now widely regarded as an established European hub that offers the market depth and size typically sought by international i
