Tesco in Teresin
Warehouse developer ProLogis, is soon to begin construction on
a 40,000 sqm warehouse in Teresin near Warsaw. The structure has been
commissioned by British supermarket operator Tesco, who are planning to open
their distribution centre there. The work should be complete by the end of this
year.
The second stage of the project with total space of 30,000 sqm, will be finished
by the end of 2005 and within the next five years, Tesco intend to open three
other such centres in Poland, which will constitute the company's "strategic
distribution network".
New warehouse launched in Ożarów
A new warehouse opened at the beginning of May on ul. Piastowska in Ożarów
Mazowiecki on the route to Poznań, and is 10 km outside Warsaw. It has 11,000
sqm of warehouse and 1,500 sqm of office space. Ecco-Papier, the paper
distributor, which is part of the Finish M-Real, and Expans, the fruit and
vegetable hypermarket supplier have leased the building. The class A structure,
whose investor was Biuro Inwestycji Kapitałowych and general contractor Skalski,
took less than 8 months to construct.
The warehouse section is 8.5 m high with a 15 x 30 m pillar grid, has 28
unloading docks, a dust-free 5 ton/sqm industrial surface and a 12°C section
for foodstuffs. The building is under 24-hour security surveillance.
Polish constructor wins contract
to build warehouse
The Polish constructor Projprzem has won a contract to build a warehouse for the
German firm Interprint, a decorative wood finish manufacturer, in Ozkorkow near
Łódź. The contract is worth EUR 999,000 and the warehouse will service a
printing factory, which has been operating since November 1999.
Budimex wins contract
for logistics centre
Construction company Budimex Dromex, a subsidiary of Budimex, has signed a
contract to build a logistics centre for the German discount supermarket chain,
Lidl. The project, in Gliwice in southern Poland, will include a warehouse,
office building and infrastructure around the building The contract is worth PLN
42.3 mln ( EUR 9.8 mln).
