It is a measure of its success that prefabrication construction specialist Pekabex is one of the few Polish contractors that are active abroad. Now, with a new person in charge, it is looking to expand further. We spoke to Beata Żaczek, the new CEO of Pekabex, about where it is headed now and how it is looking to secure contracts for the defence sector
Nathan North, EurobuildCEE: You are taking over at the helm of Pekabex at a very specific moment: your predecessor served as CEO for ten years, while your own responsibilities have focused primarily on finance. Do you feel ready for this new role?
Beata Żaczek, CEO of Pekabex: I have been with Pekabex for 17 years. I joined the Group when it consisted of a single factory in Poznań, generating revenues of several dozen million złoty and operating mainly in Poland. Today, Pekabex generates more than PLN 2 bln in revenue and delivers projects in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and several other countries. I have been involved in most of the key business decisions. I led the group’s IPO process, participated in successive acquisitions, personally conducted due diligence reviews, secured financing, structured financial processes, including acquisition funding, and helped deliver our most advanced production facility in Gdańsk Kokoszki, built in the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone.
