Užupio Krantinės site under demolition

Residential
LITHUANIA A site is now being prepared for MG Valda’s latest residential development in Vilnius.
Construction and development company MG Valda has obtained a permit to demolish dilapidated buildings on the 1.24 ha site of the former Vilija sewing plant in Užupis district in Vilnius. Demolition work has already started to make way for new a low-rise residential estate called ‘Užupio Krantinės’. The plot is situated at Polocko g. 17 on the banks of the River Vilnelė in the capital city.

MG Valda is investing EUR 23 mln in the former Vilija factory conversion project. The demolition work and site preparation will cost around EUR 0.43 mln.

“In cooperation with members of the Užupis community, we aim to create a residential estate in harmony with the old architectural layout of Užupis. This would be unimaginable without characteristic Old Town elements, such as tiled roofs, attics and distinctive façades,” explained MG Valda’s managing director Sigita Survilaitė-Mekionienė.

In addition to the Užupio Krantinės estate, MG Valda is currently in the process of developing Pušų terasos (the third stage of the Antakalnio Terasos project) and the second stage of the LightHouse project.
