POLAND The Olsztyn Zachodni [West] station has reopened after extensive renovations. Thanks to the project by the Polish State Railways [PKP S.A.], the station is now fully-adapted for the disabled.
The work has been carried out by a consortium of SKB and SKB Budownictwo in a contract worth app. PLN 3 mln. The redevelopment of the station was financed through a state subsidy and from PKP’s own funds. The work included the refurbishment of the façade and the interior of the station, replacing the windows and doors as well as all the installations. Improvements have also been made to the square in front of the station, where more than 40 trees have been planted as well as around 950 shrubs
