POLAND The government has given its official approval to a document entitled ‘The Preparation Concept To Construct Port Solidarność – The Central Transport Port for the Republic of Poland’.
The estimated cost of building the new airport is PLN 30-35 bln, which includes both new road and rail links. The most likely location for the project is a 3 ha plot in the village of Stanisławów near Grodzisk Mazowiecki, which is lies between Łódź and Warsaw. The airport is intended to take over the civilian traffic from Warsaw Chopin Airport and become one of the largest transfer hubs in Europe. On completion of the first stage, the airport will have a capacity of up to 45 mln passengers
