Broad S5 route

The project was carried out by a consortium of Budimex and Strabag Infrastruktura Południe. The contract was worth a net amount of PLN 468.5 mln. The contract concerning the construction of the first task as part of S5 Wrocław – Poznań route was signed at the end of July 2014. Since that time the companies had 30 months to complete the project plus three three-month winter periods. Apart from dual carriage in each direction they also built two interchanges: Żmigródek and Żmigród, access roads, rainwater drainage system, gas network and lighting as well as hydrological, ecological and mixed culverts and two passenger service centres. Apart from that the companies also built a nearly 750-metre bridge over the Barycz River.
