POLAND On January 10th Polish State Railways [PKP] signed a contract for the required documentation concerning to modernise Warsaw’s cross-city line in a project worth PLN 27.6 mln.

The work is to start in 2020. The rail modernisation should improve transport through the city, for both goods and passengers. The project will include the renovatoin of the Warszawa Ochota, Warszawa Śródmieście and Warszawa Powiśle stations. Additionally the Warszawa Wschodnia platforms will be reroofed and its underground passageways redeveloped. “This is one of the most important railway projects financed from the EU funds for 2014-2020,” announced Jerzy Kwieciński, the minister of investment and development. A tender for the work should be announced within 26 months

The first quarter of 2026 brought a significant revival to the commercial real estate market in Poland. Investment volume was more than EUR 1 bln, representing an increase of over 40 pct year-on-year and the highest figure for this period in several years. Despite a lower number of transactions, their value increased (EUR 635 mln in Q1 2025).
