POLAND Work on the construction of the tunnel of the future ‘Zakopianka’ i.e. the S7 Lubień – Rabka Zdrój route has been resumed. The tunnelling work will be executed around the clock, including Saturdays and Sundays, while large diameter piles at the southern portal of the tunnel will be performed for twelve hours a day.
The large diameter piles constitute the protection of landslides located at the southern inlet to the tunnel. The drilling of the fourth hole will start after securing the landslide. Work is also underway on the reinforcement of the tunnel casing. More than 2,000 metres of the tunnel near Mały Luboń and 1,800 metres of tunnel casing have been drilled.
