According to authorities of Moscow, another 66 km of lines and 26 stations will be built in the next three years. Taken together with the suburban railway network, the total length of track will be more than 1,000 km. The largest investment project is the extension of the Kalinin-Sołncewo line to Moscow’s Vnukowo airport with the passenger traffic projected to grow by 50 pct over the next few years. Moscow currently has 15 metro lines that carried more than 7 mln passengers in 2016.
