Hungary Strabag takes on railway renovation project

The track is to be electrified and the stations renovated in a EUR 132 mln contract. Strabag has a 45.34 pct stake. On completion of the work, average speeds along the 55 km line should rise to 100 km/h

The condition of this section of track has deteriorated considerably in recent years, and on many sections of the line, the diesel locomotives currently in use are restricted to speeds of between 40 km/h and 80 km/h. Our aim is to electrify the entire section and restore a speed of 100 km/h throughout.
