POLAND Echo Investment plans urban redesign for Służewiec

Residential
Echo Investment, in cooperation with BBGK Architekci, has unveiled its concept for a new residential quarter in Warsaw’s Służewiec district.

The new quarter, close to the junction of ul. Wołoska and ul. Konstruktorska, will see the development of around 1,200 apartments, shops and services, a primary school, and green space. Two older office buildings that currently stand on the site are to be demolished to make way for the project.

Echo Investment’s strategy is to create good places to live, work and spend free time – places that attract people, which we call ‘destinations’. Such is our approach when it comes to our latest project in Służewiec. At the moment this place has great office buildings, is close to the downtown of Warsaw, and has improving social infrastructure. After adding these new functions to the mix – apartments with public green space – it will become a model, multi-functional and fully sustainable part of Warsaw.
Małgorzata Turek, a board member of Echo Investment

On the app. 4.7 ha plot, seven buildings with around 1,200 apartments for sale are to be developed along with one building with apartments for rent. The greenery will cover as much as 3 ha of the site. Echo Investment also intends to create a linear park for pedestrians and cyclists, which would become the beginning of a route connecting Służewiec with Pole Mokotowskie park closer to the city centre.

Our goal was to redesign the urban fabric, improving the quality of the entire area of Służewiec. In our urban design we moved away from modernist city planning, which separates apartments from work, recreational areas from stores and services. Therefore, we want to fit new functions into the current, mainly office character of the area.
Wojciech Kotecki, the founder of BBGK Architekci

The primary school for at least 250 children, which has been designed by the WWAA studio, is to be developed by Echo Investment on ul. Konstruktorska.
