EUROPE M7 goes to Oxford

Investment & finance
Toronto-based Oxford Properties Group has acquired UK investment and asset manager M7 Real Estate.

The investment in the M7 platform is in line with Oxford’s global capital allocation strategy, which has seen it enter new geographic markets and increase its weighting to the logistics, multifamily and life sciences sectors, with the main aim of accelerating the deployment of its capital into European logistics.

M7, which invests across a variety of regional multi-tenanted asset classes, was originally formed in 2009 as a specialist in light industrial and urban logistics, which remains its largest sector and together with retail warehouses accounts for half its EUR 4 bln of assets currently under management. It has a team of around 225 employees in 14 countries across Europe, managing a portfolio of around 620 assets comprising 4.2 mln sqm on behalf of a mix of separate account clients as well as comingled investment funds, in which it also co-invests. Around 4.6 pct of its assets under management were in the CEE region at the end of September 2020. Its office properties in the region nclude Delta 44 in Wrocław, Mazovia Plaza in Warsaw, Green Park and Atrium in Katowice, and Liget Center and Laki Commerical Center in Budapest.

M7 will continue to operate as a standalone business under the day-to-day management of the current leadership team, led by Richard Croft and David Ebbrell.
