Romania Romanian investment hit by Covid

Romania’s total investment volume accounted at the end of 2020 for EUR 588.5 mln, which is less than half of the total for 2019, according to figures from CBRE.
Around 68 pct of the total volume was invested in the first half of the year. Total modern office stock in Bucharest was 2.95 mln sqm at the end of the year, of which 63 pct was of class A standard. Retail stock came in at 3.9 mln sqm in shopping centres and retail parks with around 139,000 sqm having been delivered throughout the year. Romania Commercial real estate financing increased by 15 pct

Romania’s commercial real estate sector accounts for 54 pct of the loans granted to non-financial companies and recorded a 15 pct annual increase in financing, while the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio, which stands at 6.2 pct, remains below the levels reported for certain segments considered more exposed to risk, according to an analysis performed by the Cushman & Wakefield Echinox real estate consultancy company based on data published by the National Bank of Romania (NBR).
