Eagle JVCo has agreed to acquire a portfolio of purpose-built student housing with around 800 beds and two development sites in Poland.
Eagle JVCo is an investment vehicle that was established in 2019 by Vienna-based Value One and Nuveen Real Estate (on behalf of its parent company, the New York-based TIAA pension fund). Eagle was advised by Akron Management, Savills, Crido Legal, B2RLaw and Linklaters for this transaction. The identity of the vendor and the properties in question have yet to be disclosed. Star Capital Finance (SCF) has been in the news again recently with the EUR 110 mln acquisition in a joint venture of a portfolio of six Polish retail parks. This followed the purchase of the Jantar shopping centre in Słupsk earlier this year and its entry into the Romanian market. In 2024, it made an even bigger splash with the EUR 285 mln deal for six Polish shopping centres – which was voted CEE Transaction of the Year at the Eurobuild Awards. Wrocław Airport is to construct a terminal to serve passengers travelling outside the Schengen Area. The project. which is being developed in an investment of PLN 15.4 mln, will increase the airport's capacity, improve passenger traffic management, and maintain a high level of comfort until the expansion of the main terminal is completed. Strabag is the contractor for the project, and the work is to be completed by April 30, 2027.

Senate votes to standardise house price reporting

The Polish Senate has passed an amendment to the Act on the Protection of the Rights of Purchasers of Residential Units and Single-Family Homes and to the Developer Guarantee Fund. The new regulations do not change the obligation to publish the prices of homes on investment websites, but introduce a uniform method for submitting this data to the state portal dane.gov.pl.

Warsaw fourth most unaffordable European city

Warsaw ranks as the fourth least affordable capital for a single person, with essential monthly expenses, including housing, food, transport, personal care and leisure, totalling EUR 1,836. StudentSpace, a student housing platform developed by SIGNAL, Griffin Capital Partners, and Echo Investment, has begun construction of its second Warsaw project.
