CZECH REPUBLIC Heimstaden adds to Czech porfolio

Residential
Swedish residential developer and investor Heimstaden Bostad has acquired a portfolio of 226 apartments in Plzeň, adding to its existing Czech portfolio of 42,584 units.

The portfolio, which is located opposite the University of West Bohemia, was built in 2019 and as well as the fully furnished residential units, comprises 70 parking spaces and five retail/services units with a total leasable area of 8,490 sqm

During the last year, we have expanded our portfolio with 4,000 apartments in Berlin, 1,500 turnkey rental apartments in Warsaw and now this acquisition in Plzeň. We are currently looking for further opportunities in Prague and the regions for further expansion over the next five years.
Stanislav Kubáček, the head of Heimstaden’s acquisition team for Germany and the CEE region

Early in 2020 it was announced that Heimstaden Bostad had entered the Czech market with the acquisition of the Residomo portfolio (4,515 assets with 42,584 residential units and 1,675 commercial units) in North Moravia from Round Hill Capital and Blackstone Tactical Opportunities for EUR 1.3 bln. This was followed towards the end of last year with the EUR 65 mln purchase of two build-to-rent projects in Warsaw and in January of three more in the same city for PLN 380.9 mln.
