POLAND Henley buys Poznań shopping centre

Investment & finance
London-based Henley Investments has entered the Polish market with the acquisition of Galeria Pestka in Poznań from Union Investment for an undisclosed sum.

The 42,000 sqm shopping centre in Winiary district just northwest of the city centre includes such tenants as Carrefour and Bricomarché.

The acquisition, for which B2RLaw has advised Henley Investments, is in line with the UK company’s recent retail purchases of supermarkets and retail parks.

The purchase of Galeria Pestka marks an expansion by Henley into a new region – with our debut Polish purchase – as well as the firm’s first shopping centre acquisition. This builds on the firm’s existing retail experience, including retail parks, supermarkets and hypermarkets, and leverages our deep asset management expertise.
Ian Rickwood, the CEO of Henley Investments

Henley, which was stablished in 2006, is a leading UK private equity real estate investor focusing on investment, development and asset management in commercial, residential, multifamily, healthcare, land infrastructure and alternative real estate assets. The company has so far deployed around USD 3 bln of capital.
