POLAND InPost to open 100,000 sqm of logistics hubs

Warehouse & industrial
Polish courier service InPost is to open more than a dozen logistics hubs in Poland this year. This will add 100,000 sqm to its present floorspace in the country.

The new centres are to be built this year in Rzeszów, Wrocław, Poznań, Wałbrzych, Katowice, Tychy, Radzymin, Siedlce, Kalisz, Koszalin and Szczecin. Around 75,500 sqm of the new space is to be developed for the company by Panattoni, as Eurobuild CEE has previously revealed.

Currently InPost has around 60 logistics hubs, including two sorting facilities in Piotrków Trybunalski and in P3 Logistic Park Mszczonów to operate its network of more than 11,000 parcel lockers in Poland and to provide courier services.

Walter Herz advised InPost during the negotiations for more than 50,000 sqm of the new floorspace.

This year our infrastructure will grow exponentially. In 2020 we doubled the turnover and volume of parcels that we handle. 2021 is looking even more promising. We will use Poland, with the largest network of parcel lockers in Europe and vast logistics facilities, as a template for our international expansion. (…) And now our potential will receive a further boost on account of the new parcel locker factory that is set to commence production sometime in the middle of this year. We are also planning to take over Mondial Relay – a French company with an extensive network of 15,800 Pudo collection and drop-off points in France, the Benelux and the Iberian Peninsula.
Rafał Brzoska, the CEO of InPost

The new parcel locker plant is to situated in City Logistics Kraków Airport, When it comes into use in June it will have a total area of 7,230 sqm.

In January, InPost listed on the Amsterdam EuroNext stock exchange.
