SLOVAKIA Skanska wins EUR 255 mln Slovak road contract

Skanska has been awarded a EUR 255 mln contract from the National Highway Authority of the Slovak Republic to build a roadin Višňové, northern Slovakia.

The construction of the 13.5 km section between Lietavská Lúčka – Višňové – Dubná Skala, including a 7.5 km tunnel and seven bridges, is to be financed by the European Regional Development Fund, OP Integrated Infrastructure 2014–2020 and the state budget. The contract will be included in Skanska’s order bookings for Europe for the second quarter 2021.

The completion of the construction work is scheduled for December 2023.

According to analysis by the Polish Data Centre Association, if the market continues to expand, recovered heat from data centres could equal more than 7 pct of the heat currently supplied to Poland’s district heating networks by 2030. By 2035, that figure could reach 16 pct.
