Skanska and Elzel have been awarded a contract by Správa železnic (the Czech Railway Administrator) to upgrade a 7.4 km stretch of railway in Pardubice, around 100 km east of Prague.
Skanska’s part of the contract is worth CZK 1.6 bln (EUR 62 mln), which will be included in its order bookings for Europe for Q2 2021. The company will be responsible for an extensive upgrade of the infrastructure, pre-electrification adjustments to make the track faster and able to bear greater loads, and for doubling the whole track. It will also build a train staion at Pardubice-Rosice, a pedestrian underpass, several level crossings and a bridge.
