POLAND Londoners buy Polish warehouse portfolio

Investment & finance
Polish Logistics has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of five logistics parks in Poland from AEW Europe with a combined area of 208,992 sqm.

The investment vehicle, which was established by UK-based Reino IO Logistics (a joint venture between Reino Capital and IO Asset Management) with Grosvenor Group (also based in London) as the cornerstone investor, has bought parks in Łódź, Poznań, Sosnowiec, Bielsko-Biała and Rzeszów. They are leased to 28 tenants, including Hutchinson, Omega Pilzno, Damco and Pekaes. In March 2020, just before pandemic restrictions were imposed, it was announced that AEW had agreed to sell the properties to Swiss Pillar Investments, a subsidiary of Swiss Reinsurance Company.

Completing two transactions during a pandemic year is testament to all the teams involved. This latest acquisition demonstrates Reino IO’s ability to present international partners with attractive deals, acquire a variety of assets and close deals quickly. This is just the beginning of our active asset management programme, which will include implementing measures to achieve the highest ESG standards across the portfolio.
Dorota Latkowska, the investment director of Reino Partners

The other transaction completed by Polish Logistics during the pandemic was its initial acquisition in June 2020 of Logistic City, a 135,000 sqm asset in Piotrków Trybunalski.

Polish Logistics was advised by Dentons and CBRE for the latest deal, while the seller was advised by Allen & Overy and JLL. Debt financing was provided by BNP Paribas Bank Polska.
