Austrian construction firm Strabag, together with its consortium partners, has won two Prague metro contracts – the refurbishment of Jiřího z Poděbrad station and the construction of the first section of line D of the underground railway.
In a EUR 50 mln contract, Strabag (with a 65 pct share) and AŽD Praha will modernise Jiřího z Poděbrad station in Vinohrady (Prague 3). The project will involve the replacement of Soviet-era ‘Leningrad’ escalators with Schindler escalators. Access to the platforms will also be made barrier-free with two pairs of lifts.
