CZECH/SLOVAKIA Geosan completes Váhostav takeover

Kolín-based Geosan originally agreed to buy out financially distressed Váhostav in June. The deal has now gone through following its acceptance by the Czech and Slovak anti-trust bodies, who found that there was no horizontally overlap stemming from the acquisition, which allows Geosan to enter the Slovak market for the first time.

As part of its deliberations, construction holding Geosan has long considered a strategic entry into the Slovak construction market, and at the same time strengthening the holding's competence in the field of infrastructure construction. The acquisition of Váhostav - SK, as is thus the logical outcome of our long-term efforts to further develop the group and strengthen its position on the Czecho-Slovak construction market.
