Poland Ursynów tunnel finally open

The tunnel is the longest in Poland and was constructed at a cost of PLN 1.66 bln of which the construction costs alone totalled PLN 1.2 bln. A 5 km section of the S2 road has thus been opened running between the Puławska and the Przyczółkowa junctions. The structure comprises two sections for traffic running in opposite directions each of which has a length of 2,335m. Each carriageway comprises three lanes with a hard shoulder. The tunnel was built with EU subsidies, which in total come to PLN 2 bln for 18.6 km of road.
