Poland Mirbud and Kobylarnia to build S74

Development work on another section of the S74 expressway has begun with the signing of a PLN 557.7 mln contract to design and build the 16.4 km stretch of road between the Przełom/Mniów and Kielce Zachód junctions.

The tender was won by a consortium of Mirbud and Kobylarnia. The road should be opened in mid-2025. The contract includes constructing the junctions at Mniów, where the road is to connect with national road nr 74 and at Bugaj, where it will connect with regional road nr 748. The work will also involve the construction of twelve flyovers and two more bridges, as well as animal crossings and a service station area at Przełom. The design should be ready in Q1 2023 to allow the permitting process to begin in the second half of the year.

Strabag to help build Fehmarn tunnel

Strabag has been appointed by DB InfraGO AG to construct several sections of the Fehmarn Sound Crossing, connecting the island of Fehmarn with the German mainland via a 2.2 km tunnel. The tunnel is to replace the existing Fehmarn Sound Bridge. Road traffic will run on four lanes through two tunnel tubes, while a rail line will be routed on two tracks in separate tubes.
