GTC has presented an analysis of its achievements in Poland during the first half of 2024. Over 35,400 sqm of office space was leased across ten buildings in Poland's largest cities. GTC’s properties attracted 14 new partners, and 18 companies chose to extend their leases.

CitySpace, an operator of flexible office space in Poland, will launch its fifth location in Warsaw in October. The new centre is being created in the Nowogrodzka Square office building and will operate under the name CitySpace Novo.

Industrial Research Forum has announced industrial market figures for Q2 2024. The total amount of projects currently under construction increased to 969,800 sqm at the end of Q2 2024, out of which around 32 pct was already pre-leased. With over 117,000 sqm completed, the modern industrial stock in the Czech Republic reached the milestone of 12 mln sqm.

Metal prints specialist Displate has extended its lease of 1,700 sqm in the Atlas Tower office building in central Warsaw.

Twenty brands debuted on the Czech retail market between January and the end of June, the highest ever recorded in the first six months of a year. The biggest categories were Health and Beauty and F&B. All but one of the new brands opened in Prague, the other setting up shop in an outlet centre in the Moravian town of Hatě.

Kion has extended its lease agreement in Bonarka for Business office complex. Kion leases a total of 3,900 sqm office space in buildings E & F. The Kion Business Services Polska team in Kraków focuses on finance and accounting processes, IT services, and direct procurement tasks.

Panattoni has begun the final construction stage of its City Logistics Kraków I warehouse park in the city’s Nowa Huta district. A total of 11,300 sqm is to be built with the park, which will expand to its final target size to 36,500 sqm.

LPP, a fashion retailer, is moving into a new e-commerce facility at CTPark Bucharest West. Together with CTP, the fashion brand is extending its current building to support the delivery of the new facility. This will take LPP’s total footprint at the park to around 90,000 sqm with the new facility comprising around 40,000 sqm.

Garbe Industrial Real Estate and Logicenters have started work on one of the largest logistics properties made out of pure timber in the port town of Hafen Straubing-Sand in Bavaria. The project aims to set new standards in sustainable construction.

Panattoni has begun construction work on a new BTO centre for the E.G.O., a supplier for household manufacturers. The construction of the manufacturing plant is to start in July this year and the completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.

TechnipFMC has renewed its lease for office space at the Podium Park office building in Kraków. As a result of the renegotiated agreement, the tenant will continue to lease almost 7,000 sqm in the Globalworth-managed complex.

The Alma office building, located on ul. Marynarska in Warsaw, has changed hands. The 8,000 sqm building has been sold by the Astrea company. The purchaser is a private Polish investor.

Europe Fund III SCSp Invesco Real Estate has completed its first mezzanine lending deal in Central Europe on behalf of Invesco Real Estate Europe Fund III – SCSp (Europe III), the third European value-add strategy in succession for the firm.

WDP has acquired a portfolio in Romania comprising properties with a leasable area of app. 136,000 sqm and a large plot for a future development with a total potential of more than 300,000 sqm gla. The value of the transaction comes to app. EUR 110 mln.

DHL Express will open a new logistics centre in VGP Park Bucharest North, located in the immediate vicinity of Bucharest, in the town of Ștefănești. The new centre, with an area of 4,100 sqm, will be used for sorting and processing the shipments arriving by air.

Cushman & Wakefield has summarised the situation on the Polish retail market in Q2 2024. There were eight new retail completions with the development pipeline comprising app. 400,000 sqm. This indicates healthy supply levels amid unwavering occupier demand and strong retail sales, shopping centre footfall and turnover figures.
One United Properties announced the lease of a retail space with a GLA of 3,600 sqm on the ground floor of One Gallery building, including terraces and storage spaces. The contract has been signed with Tomcat Hospitality.
Romanians spent EUR 36 bln in large retail chains, an amount 11 pct higher compared with 2022, out of which the FMCG spending accounted for EUR 22.5 bln (more than 60 pct share), according to the Romania Retail Snapshot 2024 performed by the Cushman & Wakefield Echinox, based on the financial results of 116 companies from 12 different retail segments.
Romanians spent EUR 63 mln in cinemas last year, an amount 25 pct higher compared with 2022, as ticket prices also recorded a 8.2 pct y-o-y increase, according to the data offered by the Romanian Film Center and analyzed by the Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.
CBRE Romania has announced its exclusive involvement in the leasing strategy of H Știrbei Palace, a historical monument located in the heart of Bucharest. After the completion of the renovation works, Știrbei Palace aims to become a landmark shopping gallery for luxury brands in South-Eastern Europe.
Mitiska REIM has announced the opening of a new retail park in Jastrzębie Zdrój, a city of 90,000 inhabitants in southern Poland. Developed in partnership with Karuzela Holding and owned in joint-venture with the FRI 2 fund, this latest opening is the third retail park development opened in Poland by Mitiska REIM and Karuzela Holding in the past nine months.
The Żabka Group has opened its first shops in Romania. Over the past month, five outlets under the Froo banner have opened in Bucharest.
Norblin Factory has a new event space. The Event Hall is a 670 sqm area outfitted in an industrial style, designed for events up to 500 guests.
Leroy Merlin has leased a 9,000 sqm of space within Pitesti Shopping Park, developed by Square 7 Properties. The logistics park, with a leasable area of 22,000 sqm, is located in the northern part of Pitesti, in the Gavana area.
In Warsaw's Norblin Factory, the only stationary Answear.com concept store in Europe started its activity. On the area of 2,000 sqm, the customers will find an offer of premium fashion brands, which so far were available only online.
The Cepelia pavilion at the junction of Al. Jerozolimskie and ul. Marszałkowska in Warsaw is undergoing renovation. A three-storey Empik store with a total area of 1,300 sqm will open in the building.
Wood & Company is planning the final third tranche of its acquisition of a stake in the Aupark shopping centre in Bratislava. The facility is currently undergoing an extension, which will increase its space by 6,000 sqm. In the summer, a huge green façade will be built on the new part.
Prague is the only city in the CEE region to boast a Prime High Street, a shopping street with only the most prestigious global brands. This location is Pařížská (Paris) Street, where currently 46 out of 48 available retail units are occupied.
Mitiska REIM has opened a new food-anchored retail park in the Polish city of Świebodzin. Developed in partnership with Karuzela Holding, this is the tenth project undertaken by Mitiska REIM and Karuzela over the past five years, with five more developments planned to open over the next two years.
Cushman & Wakefield has summarised the situation on the Polish retail market. The opening of 2024 is encouraging and new retail space supply in the coming months is likely to match or even surpass last year’s total.
Centrum Černý Most, a shopping centre in the Prague region, is set to undergo a significant expansion of 9,100 sqm that will add over 30 new shops and restaurants, as well as additional screens to the centre’s multiplex cinema.
Redkom Development sold 100 pct of shares in the company holding the Glinianka complex. The retail park, located near Warsaw, has been bought by CEE-Big Europe.
Terg, the owner of Media Expert, plans to strengthen its portfolio of investments in its own retail locations. The company wants to put into operation facilities with a total area of 72,000 sqm within the next two years.
