Poland RWE Renewables chooses Warsaw Unit

RWE Renewables is a strategic investor in renewable energy sources. The company develops, builds and operates onshore and offshore wind and solar farms. A national team of almost 200 employees works in several offices in Poland, including Szczecin, Gdynia, Słupsk, Inowrocław, Rzeszów, Łódź and Warsaw.

RWE Renewables was supported by Itra Polska in the process of leasing office space in the Warsaw Unit. The lease agreement with Ghelamco, the investor and owner of Warsaw Unit, was signed for five years.

A key factor in our decision was the fact that Warsaw Unit is 100 pct powered by green electricity.

The Warsaw Unit has 59,000 sqm of leasable space. The building was the first in the country to receive the WELL Core certificate at the Platinum level and was the first high-rise to achieve BREEAM with the highest possible Outstanding rating. Confirmation of its sustainability is also provided by the WELL Health-Safety Rating, Green Standard Building and 'Barrier Free Building'.

The Warsaw Unit's average energy consumption is nearly 30 pct lower than comparable high-rise buildings of its type. The office building is to be the first skyscraper in Poland to be powered by 100 pct clean electricity from the developer's photovoltaic farms. Thanks to its use, CO2 emissions over the building's entire life cycle will be reduced by more than 50 pct, and in terms of utility consumption, by as much as over 70 pct.
