POLAND Popeyes pops into Złote Tarasy

Retail & leisure
The first Popeyes restaurant in Warsaw has opened in Złote Tarasy. The Louisiana-based fast food chain is the seventh new tenant of the shopping centre this year.

Popeyes Famous Louisiana Chicken was founded in 1972. The restaurants offer cuisine typical of the American South, known for fried chicken and seafood. The brand's first Polish location was opened in July this year in Wrocław.

Cushman & Wakefield is responsible for the re-commercialisation of Złote Tarasy.

Złote Tarasy is one of the best-known shopping centres in Poland. It boasts a diverse mix of retail, service and F&B outlets, which it continues to expand and enhance. This year’s newcomers, in addition to Popeyes, include Eobuwie/Modivo, Lush, Candy Pop, Ryłko, Hugo, Cofix and Zdrowa Krowa. Openings scheduled to take place in the run-up to Christmas include an Italian restaurant and wine store and a store of a fashion retailer that will debut on the Polish market.

In 2023, CCC, Vision Express, W.Kruk, Wedel, New Balance, Boss, Samsonite, Costa, Cava, Five O'Clock, Tous and Lego Build and Play have decided to expand or open new format stores in the mall. Food operator Carrefour decided to extend the lease agreement for another 10 years.

Złote Tarasy is a five-level shopping centre with a gross leasable area of around 66,500 sqm. Its tenant mix comprises over 180 stores, including Van Graff, Converse, Victoria's Secret, Sephora, Douglas, Massimo Dutti and New Balance. The F&B range includes, among others: Cuisines of the World, Lindt, Lukullus and Five O'Clock. The owner of the centre is Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW).
