Poland Terg invests in retail parks
Retail & leisureTerg's plans represent a diversification of the portfolio of facilities that currently house Media Expert outlets. The brand currently has over 550 shops across Poland and opens between a dozen and a few dozen new locations every year. A growing share of these are free-standing facilities owned by Terg and Aurapark retail parks. Under the latter model, Terg will deliver a total of 72,000 sqm of retail space by the end of 2025. Some of the developments are in the final stages of construction, others are in the process of commercialisation and finalizing agreements with tenants.
In all our investments, we pay particular attention to the selection of tenants and the creation of an optimal portfolio of their offers, thanks to which our facilities become important centres of local and regional commerce in the short term. We work with both large retail chains and smaller operators, striving to ensure a comprehensive catalogue of product and service supply.
Marcin Żakowski, director of the real estate department at Terg
In the first months of 2024, the Aurapark retail park concept developed by Terg expanded with three completed projects - Aniołów Park in Częstochowa, RockPark in Przeworsk and Park Handlowy in Stalowa Wola. The total area of these facilities is 30,000 sqm.
Further investments are under construction. In Oborniki Wielkopolskie and Czarnków, two investments with a total area of 12,000 sqm are at the commercialisation stage. In Zachodniopomorskie voivodship, the construction of the second stage of Aurapark in Wałcz is underway, and the construction of the third stage, with a total area of 2,000 sqm, is planned. In Żywiec, on the other hand, the second stage of the investment with an area of 4,000 sqm is under construction, and the commercialisation and design of a retail park (12,000 sqm) in Wadowice, on the site of the former armaments plant, is also underway. The Aurapark with an area of app. 4,000 sqm will soon be enriched by the Lower Silesian town of Oleśnica, and the first customers will be able to shop here still in H1 2024. The final countdown is also underway for Silesian investments - facilities in Zawiercie and Jastrzębie Zdrój, covering a total of 8,000 sqm of retail space, whose openings are scheduled for Q2 and Q3 of this year, respectively.
In most of the indicated facilities, apart from Media Expert shops, it will be possible to do grocery, drugstore, footwear and interior design segment shopping. Aura Parks' partners include such brands as Biedronka, Lidl, Rossmann, DM Drogerie, Hebe, Sinsay, Martes Sport, Pepco, Dealz, Smyk, CCC, Deichmann, Maxi Zoo, Jysk, Action, Tedi, KiK or Empik.
We are consistently acquiring the most interesting offers throughout Poland, both in terms of smaller free-standing facilities and investment projects or plots in interesting retail and business environments that provide convenient infrastructure for customers. We also see great potential in revitalising post-production areas and, once they have been given new retail and service functions, restoring them to the urban fabric for the benefit of local communities.
Michał Mystkowski, Media Expert spokesperson
At the same time, Terg is launching new Media Expert shops on the existing basis of leasing space in retail facilities and modernising older locations.
