Poland Empik flagship store in the city centre

Retail & leisure
The Cepelia pavilion at the junction of Al. Jerozolimskie and ul. Marszałkowska in Warsaw is undergoing renovation. A three-storey Empik store with a total area of 1,300 sqm will open in the building.

In addition to the retail space, the store will feature a multimedia exhibition, a small reading room and a special area for events with artists. The shop will offer omnichannel services, including click&collect, free delivery of orders from Empik.com to the showroom or Premium Pay&Go service. In 2023, the Empik chain expanded by a further 21 locations, five of which appeared in the capital, under the Empik and Papiernik by Empik labels.

We closed 2023 with more than 350 stores across Poland, and we plan to open another 30 locations this year alone. We are focusing strongly on densifying the network in order to reach places where there is no Empik yet.
Łukasz Sitko, chief operating officer of Retail at Empik Group

The modernist Cepelia pavillon, built in the 1960s, is regaining its splendour thanks to a comprehensive renovation, in line with the original and retaining the characteristic elements of the facade and interior. The opening of Empik in the building is planned for late 2024 or early 2025. The construction work is being carried out in cooperation with the Mazovian Regional Historic Preservation Officer. Sienna 111 is the owner, main investor and contractor for the entire building, infrastructure and surroundings. The parties do not disclose the total value of the investment. The studio AMC - Andrzej M. Chołdzyński and Bernatek Architekci is responsible for the design of the revitalisation of the Cepelia pavilion. The consulting firms Cushman & Wakefield and Colliers were also involved in the lease transaction and represented the landlord.
