S8 now longer in Silesia

POLAND The S8 expressway has been extended by 22 km with the opening of a section between Oleśnica and Wrocław.
The route forms part of the A8 motorway ring road around Wrocław and is also the Lower Silesian section of the S8 between Wrocław and Syców, which is to be completed in November. The new road has three interchanges, 16 bridges and viaducts and several dozen crossings for animals, while 11 km of acoustic screens have been built. The cost of the 22 km section is app. PLN 565 mln, with the whole S8 Syców-Wrocław section to cost PLN 1.2 bln. Additional financing of PLN 980 mln is to be provided
