New Year, new challenges

Our readers often begin the New Year by informing us of their plans and targets for the next 12 months. This time we want to do the opposite and introduce the new Eurobuild, with which we want to reach everyone in Central and Eastern Europe interested in real estate and construction. Such is our main target for 2008, and we are counting on you keeping your fingers crossed for us. Our magazine has also undergone a revamp of its design and layout. We can only hope our ‘new face’ meets with your approval. And if it doesn’t, it will mean all our sleepless nights will have been for nothing.

In another New Year’s surprise, we have introduced new columns to the magazine, giving more space to ‘human resources’ and ‘sustainable development’ – a hot and undoubtedly major topic for the future. So, in short - up with the greens!

Last year was an unusually successful one for the property market in this part of Europe. Office developers can now put the champagne on ice (p.28), whilst players on the warehouse market can now reward themselves with a good holiday (some of whom have been tanning across the Pond, of which more on p.42). Retail developers (p.36) also have much to smile about, while hoteliers (p.50) and residential developers (p.46) can also celebrate. Investors, too, have little to complain about. They are continuing to add to their portfolios in this region of Europe, albeit with greater caution. To sum up – let’s keep things moving in the same direction! Which is what we wish for you all in 2008.

So we welcome our new readership, while reminding our regular readers that they are every bit as important as they have always been. After all, it is your loyalty which has allowed us to believe for so many years that the fruit of our labours need not end at the Polish border.
