Iskierka lights up the National Orchestra

On May 27th, 2026, during the ‘Iskierka Effect’ concert, the concert hall of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) in Katowice once again became a venue not just for music but also business and philanthropy. The true stars of the evening were children undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment. The Children’s Oncology Orchestra is an original project of the Iskierka Foundation and has been part of the organisation’s activities since its inception. Made up of current and former paediatric oncology patients, the orchestra gives children the opportunity to take the stage as performers – often with stage fright, but always with remarkable courage and joy. The initiative showcases their talents, strengthens their sense of agency and reminds us that treatment is about far more than medical procedures.
