Time to party
The alumni of the Ghelamco Golf Academy organised by Eurobuild have celebrated their graduation and are now getting ready for more golf-related challenges
It was Thursday evening and time for a celebration. But the elegantly-dressed crowd gathered at the fashionable new Live Bar & Lounge on ul. Mazowiecka in Warsaw wasn’t there to celebrate a major new deal. Or at least not that kind of real estate deal. For three weeks in May and June, as part of the Ghelamco Golf Academy organised by Eurobuild, some 50 professionals from the real estate sector took their first steps onto a golf course. The goal of the twelve lessons they took overall was the same: obtaining the ‘Green Card’ which opens the doors to golf courses and tournaments across the country and worldwide. And it was definitely worth the sacrifice, as well as all the mosquito bites. Jeroen van der Toolen, Ghelamco’s managing director for Central and Eastern Europe and now the proud owner of a Green Card, started his welcoming speech by thanking the members of the academy for making the event such a wonderful experience. He went on to say what a pleasure it was to get to know all the people in such a relaxed atmosphere. One of the participants, just before receiving his card, was heard to exclaim: “It’s hard to recognise some of the people here now they are wearing suits. I’m so used to seeing them in their golfing clothes!” For a few hours the group managed to put business talk aside and discuss future golf-related endeavours. They now all have just two months to improve their skills before the social event of the season: the 9th Eurobuild CEE golf tournament, which will take place on September 3rd 2010 at the Mazury Golf & Country Club in Naterki. ν (MP)
