Moscow hotel revenue drops in H1

RUSSIA With a 5.4 pct drop in the revenue per room (RevPAR) y-o-y, the performance of the Moscow hotel market for H1 2014 is down, but less than feared, according to the Moscow Hotel Market Update report by JLL.
Unsurprisingly, the decrease came mostly through a fall in occupancy. “It is not as bad as we were expecting though, following the political challenges around the Ukraine crisis. The only segment not to see an overall decrease has been the upper-midscale segment (2 pct increase in RevPAR), which seems to have benefited from a swing from the upscale segment (11 pct drop in RevPAR). Poland Data centres could supply more heat to Polish cities

Poland’s growing data centre market could create a significant new source of waste heat for heating networks. According to analysis by the Polish Data Centre Association, if the market continues to expand, recovered heat from data centres could equal more than 7 pct of the heat currently supplied to Poland’s district heating networks by 2030. By 2035, that figure could reach 16 pct.

Hotel transactions boom

The Czech hotel market is building on an exceptionally strong year in 2025, marked by a significant increase in transaction volumes and investor interest. According to Cushman & Wakefield, a total of 16 hotels were sold in the Czech Republic, representing 2,989 rooms and a total transaction volume of EUR 764 mln. Based on available data, this represents the highest annual transaction volume ever recorded on the Czech hotel market.
