Chinese giant to take over Starwood's French hotelier

GLOBAL Chinese state-owned travel group Jin Jiang International Holdings has signed a preliminary deal to acquire Louvre Hotels Group, a Paris-based hotelier owned by Starwood Capital Group.
Established in 1976 and bought in 2005 by Starwood Capital Group, Louvre Hotels Group operates seven hotel brands of different standards: Première Classe, Campanile, Kyriad, Tulip Inn, Golden Tulip, Royal Tulip and Concorde Luxury Hotels. If ultimately concluded, the deal would add up the Group’s 1,100 hotels in more than 40 countries, with a total capacity of over 80,000 rooms, to Jin Jiang International Hotels portfolio, comprised of over 1,700 hotels in 11 countries. Hotel transactions boom

The Czech hotel market is building on an exceptionally strong year in 2025, marked by a significant increase in transaction volumes and investor interest. According to Cushman & Wakefield, a total of 16 hotels were sold in the Czech Republic, representing 2,989 rooms and a total transaction volume of EUR 764 mln. Based on available data, this represents the highest annual transaction volume ever recorded on the Czech hotel market.
