WORLD One million jobs are being lost every day in the travel and tourism sector due to the sweeping effect of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).
The vast closure of hotels, suspension of the majority of international and domestic airline flights, cessation of cruise lines and growing global travel bans are having a catastrophic domino effect hitting huge numbers of suppliers worldwide. Hotel transactions boom

The Czech hotel market is building on an exceptionally strong year in 2025, marked by a significant increase in transaction volumes and investor interest. According to Cushman & Wakefield, a total of 16 hotels were sold in the Czech Republic, representing 2,989 rooms and a total transaction volume of EUR 764 mln.  Occupancy rates increased by around 4 pct in the first six months of the year compared to the same period of 2024, according to a report by Cushman & Wakefield Echinox with the figures based on the STR data.
