Hungarian hospitality hit badly by pandemic

Nights stayed by domestic guests also fell sharply – by 61 pct, while the number of domestic guests themselves shrank by 64 pct and foreign guests by 74 pct. In total, 107,000 foregin guests spent 316,000 nights in commercial accommodation in March and 166,000 domestic guests spent was 381,000 nights. The gross revenue from these stays was 60 pct down y-o-y to HUF 14 bln (EUR 39.5 mln).

The number of Russian and Ukrainian guests was less than half that of March 2019, while for the rest of Europe the figure was around a third of that month’s and less than a quarter for Asian guests.
