Poland IGHP reports on hospitality losses

Hotels
According to the Chamber of Commerce (Izba Gospodarcza Hotelarstwa) for the Polish Hotel Industry, Polish hotels face losses from May this year of up to PLN 750 mln.

According to its survey prices per room have fallen by 70 pct compared to two years ago and they accommodate fewer than 30 pct of the guests. Currently, only 2 pct of hotels remain closed. On average each hotel surveyed lost PLN 426,000, which translate into PLN 5,100 per room. Although many hotels could open 50 pct of their rooms, their restaurants had to remain closed. This was much higher than the original estimates made in May. The survey sample numbered 196 hotels across Poland, 70 pct of which are located in towns and cities.
