Poland Strabag real estate makes room for Ukrainian refugees

The developer has also given over space, where up to 300 people may be housed, in the Plaza shopping centre in Kraków for use by the city and other charities. On Friday, Strabag Real Estate donated 700 sqm to the city in the Atrium International buildings. On Sunday a further 1,500 sqm was made available and on Monday another 1,100 sqm. Strabag is to install extra kitchens and showers in the building. In Kraków the developer first handed over 3,700 sqm to the city to be used for storage, sorting, and handing out clothes. Strabag has also prepared around 5,000 sqm in the building to provide around 300 beds.

On Sunday March 6th, the first vehicle arrived at the Atrium building with 40 refugees from Ukraine seeking shelter in Poland. This evening a further 140 have arrived. We are going to keep on handing over more space to the city in the building where around 400 of those in need may be housed. Also in Kraków, there will be a specially prepared shelter for around 300 people in the Plaza shopping centre. Our Colleagues from the Strabag construction company are working very quickly and due to the close collaboration with the authorities in both cities, which are supplying the sites with food, beds mattresses, sleeping bags and other essential equipment, we will be able to provide help quickly to those arriving from Ukraine.
