Eurobuild AwardsThe Eurobuild Awards is a unique event. Every year we try to distinguish the best companies, teams, institutions and projects. The strength of the Eurobuild Awards derives from the fact that in the vast majority of categories the winners are chosen by market players themselves - so the awards have a unique value because, in a way, the winners are selected by their competitors.
We have taken a similar approach in the Architectural Design of the Year category, in which the votes of real estate experts will also determine the winner. "The category includes commercial and public utility buildings that were developed or finished in 2012. The winners of this category will be chosen in two stages. In the first the jury will select the best three designs," says Katarzyna Matejuk, who is responsible for the organisation of the Eurobuild Awards 2012 Gala on behalf
of Eurobuild. The jury, which will be made up of nearly 200 people active on the real estate market, will evaluate the aesthetic qualities, the functionality and the arrangement of the space in a given facility. They will take into consideration the originality of the design, its functional aspects and whether the building integrates well with the architecture around it. "The jurors know the market very well and will make their choice on the basis of their knowledge, not just on the applications of the people who enter a given project for the competition. The nominated concepts can be viewed on the eurobuildawards.com website," adds Katarzyna Matejuk. A prestigious statuette will be awarded to the architectural studio that designed the winning project. It is important to remember, however, that the final vote will take place during the gala at the Hilton Warsaw hotel. This is when the final shortlist will be announced, before the almost 700 guests take the ultimate decision on the best architectural project. ? AC
