POLAND Investors don’t pay much attention to low tax rates today; what is important to them is predictability and access to financial instruments that might mitigate financial risk. This was the conclusion of the ‘Tax barometer’ discussion panel at the Investment Market Conference held by Eurobuild in the Intercontinental Hotel in Warsaw on February 27th.
“These are the factors that are taken into account when formulating investment models, which have a minimum term of at least five years,” stated Małgorzata Dankowska, a partner at TPA Poland. “I agree that predictability is important to investors. If you look back two or three years ago when the tax authorities began questioning VAT refunds, investors became anxious about the Polish market,” added Sylwia Toczyska, a partner and a director at Vistra Poland. Romania’s land market closed 2025 with an estimated transaction volume broadly in line with 2024 levels, when deals totalled nearly EUR 450 mln, according to data from Colliers. The market was shaped by political uncertainty and fiscal adjustments in the first part of the year. However, sentiment improved visibly after the elections, with the final months of 2025 delivering some of the strongest transactional results seen in recent years.
